Terms & Conditions, Privacy, Delivery and Returns Policy

These are the terms and conditions (which include our privacy policy, disclaimer and copyright notice) on which we do business for goods ordered through the website. These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights. They are designed to set out clearly our responsibilities and your rights.

  1. These are the only terms and conditions upon which we agree to contact with you and no alteration of these terms and conditions shall be valid unless previously agreed in writing.
  2. A contract is formed between us when (and not before) we receive settlement of your credit/debit card payment.
  3. Any clerical or other error or omission in any website based information or other document or information issued by us shall be subject to correction without any liability on our part.
  4. No pictures, illustrations or descriptions or any other information submitted or contained in this website or other advertising matter shall be deemed to form part of the contract but are for general information and guidance only.
  5. All payments are taken in pounds sterling and all purchases will be liable to VAT at the prevailing UK rate.

DELIVERY

  1. The ordered goods will be delivered to the address provided by you during the on-line order process. Orders placed using the UK Express Delivery option will usually be delivered to the UK within 5 working days of your order being accepted, unless otherwise notified to you by us. However time for delivery shall not be of the essence and we shall not be liable for any delay in delivery. If we fail to dispatch any ordered goods within 14 days of accepting your order we shall refund in full money paid in respect of such goods.
  2. With regards to Next Day deliveries , if an order is received late we shall at the customer’s request refund the difference between the cost of Next Day Delivery and the cost of UK Premium Delivery. The right to a refund is only applicable if you call us on 0161 818 8382 placing your order, as instructed to do so on our delivery options page and during the checkout process.
  3. With regards to UK Premium Deliveries, if an order is received late we shall, at the customer’s request refund the difference between the cost of UK Premium Delivery and the cost of UK Express Delivery.
  4. If any ordered goods are not readily available to us, we reserve the right to withdraw our acceptance of your order for such goods and to refund in full any payment you have made for them. For the avoidance of doubt other goods ordered by you will be dispatched in the normal way.
  5. We warrant that, at the time of delivery, the ordered goods will, subject as here in after provided, correspond with the description on this website will be free from defects in materials and workmanship and will be of satisfactory quality (within the meaning of the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994). There may, however, be minor variations between the goods as shown or described on our website and those dispatched to you.
  6. If a delivery is returned to us by our courier, due to the customer providing an incorrect address, refusing delivery, not being available for delivery, or failing to respond to a ‘You Were Out’ card or similar, we reserve the right to charge for the cost of the return imposed on us by our courier or to deduct such an amount from the value of any refunds given. Currently this is charged at £10.00 per consignment in the UK, and £25 for International deliveries, this is due to courier charges for returned items.
  7. Due to the nature of International deliveries we are unable to offer delievery refunds in the case of delays or non delivery.

RETURNS AND CANCELLATIONS

Purchases made by consumers are covered by this returns policy. Business to business sales (including schools, organisations etc) are excluded. Products purchased from Weird And Wonderful may be returned within 7 working days from receipt of your order for a replacement, exchange or refund.

Before returning any items, please phone us on 0161 818 8382 to obtain a Returns Authorisation Number. When phoning you will need to confirm your name, address and order number – please ensure you have these details before contacting us. All returns must be sent with a completed Returns Form (available here – click to view) and a copy of your order receipt. Any returns received without authorisation and a returns number may not be processed.

Due to personal hygiene we regret that we cannot accept returns on wigs, facial hair, teeth, face paints, masks, stockings, tights and panties ( this also applies to costumes containing such items). If you are unsure about an item, please contact us before you purchase it and we will be happy to give you advice.

Please take note of the following additional conditions of our returns policy:

  1. Any item that is to be returned should be received by us in the condition it was in when you received it and in the original and undamaged packaging. Returned items must be undamaged, unused and in a suitable condition for resale. Items received back without all the original packaging will not be refunded. Additionally, items that come in sealed packaging (such as blister packs for example) must not have been opened. All returns will be inspected by us before a return is processed.
  2. You are responsible for any items being returned until they reach us. You will be responsible for the cost of the return and we strongly urge you to send items back using Royal Mails ‘Recorded Signed’ service for items up to the value of £36.00 or their ‘Special Delivery’ service for items of a higher value.
  3. Unfortunately we cannot refund outbound shipping, packing insurance costs.
  4. All the returns made that comply with our correct returns procedure will generally be processed within 7 working days, though this may be longer during busy periods. In any case, all refunds will be made within 30 calendar days.
  5. Returns should be sent to the address provided on the Returns Form.
  6. Returns received that do not comply with this returns policy will not be processed upon recipe by Hidden Corner Fancy Dress. If you wish to arrange to have such returns sent back to you, please contact us within 91 calendar days from their receipt back to us , otherwise we will destroy them.
  7.  Due to problems in the past, we regret that we cannot send out replacements or exchanges until we receive the returned items. If you require an exchange or a replacement quickly, the best thing to do is place a second order with us for immediate dispatch (this can be done online or calling 0161 818 8382) and the return will be dealt with in due course.
  8. We understand that items are sometimes purchased as gifts or that you may be away when items are delivered. In such cases, keeping within the 7 day timescale is not always possible. At our discretion, and as a gesture of goodwill, we will consider the following action depending on the circumstances.
  • For items received by us after 7 working days but less than 30 calendar days we may accept the items back for a refund of % of the price you paid for them (excluding shipping, packaging and insurance costs) or a refund of 100% in the form or a Hidden Corner Fancy Dress voucher (excluding shipping, packing and insurance costs).
  • For items received after 30 calendar days we will have no obligation to refund. If you wish for such items to be sent back to you we will charge a nominal fee to cover any shipping costs.

LIABILITY

  1. We shall be under no liability in respect of any defect arising from fair wear and tear, willful damage, negligence, abnormal usage conditions, failure to follow our instructions (weather oral or in writing), misuse or alteration or repair of the ordered goods without our approval.
  2. If you make a valid claim under paragraph 10, we shall replace the ordered goods in question free of charge or at our discretion refund in the full payment made in the respect of such goods, but we shall have no further liability for such failure or defect.
  3. Except in the case or death or personal injury caused by our negligence, we shall not be liable to you by reason of any representation or any implied warranty, condition or other term, or any duty at common law or under these terms and conditions, for any special, indirect or consequential damage.
  4. We reserve the right to vary these terms and conditions at any time but, in respect of any ordered goods, the terms and conditions, which apply shall be those, which you accepted when you placed the order.

INDEMNITY

  1. If any provision of these terms and conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable in whole or in part, the validity of the other provisions of these terms and conditions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected thereby.
  2. The contract formed bu our acceptance of your order shall be governed by the laws on England and you agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts, 3rd party sites, Content and Products.
